Everything you need to know about MyDailyCheck.
How It Works
MyDailyCheck calls or texts your loved one once a day at a time you choose. They confirm they're okay with a single button press or text reply. If they don't respond, we alert you and everyone on their contact list. It's a simple daily safety net.
We try again. If the first call goes unanswered, we retry — sometimes switching from call to text or vice versa. If we still can't reach them after your configured retry window, we start quietly reaching out to the people on their contact list, one at a time.
8:00 AM
Check-in call placed. No answer.
8:15 AM
Retry #1 — this time via text message.
8:30 AM
Still no response. Nudge notification sent.
8:45 AM
ALERT: All contacts notified. "We couldn't reach Margaret. Can someone check on her?"
9:00 AM
David (son) replies: "On my way."
9:20 AM
David confirms: "She's fine, was gardening out back." Alert cleared.
It's an automated call with a friendly, natural voice. It uses their name: "Hi Margaret, this is your MyDailyCheck wellness check." It's brief — about 10 seconds. Most people get used to it quickly and even look forward to it.
For a call: answer and press 1 (okay) or 2 (need help). For a text: reply "OK" or "HELP." That's literally it.
Yes. You choose the method — call, text, or both. Many people prefer text because they can reply when it's convenient rather than answering a ringing phone.
That just confirms they're okay for the day — the equivalent of saying 'yes, I'm fine.' If they realize after and want to flag something, they can text HELP or 2 to MyDailyCheck and we'll reach you and the care circle right away.
Phones & Technology
Absolutely. MyDailyCheck works with any phone that can receive a call — including landlines and flip phones. No smartphone needed. No app needed. No internet needed.

If they have one
No. The core check-in works entirely through phone calls and text messages. There's nothing to download, install, or learn.
For people who have trouble with phone calls, text message check-ins are a great option. They can reply at their own pace. We also plan to offer a physical button device in the future for people who prefer something even simpler.
Today we're built for Canadian families, with our calls placed from Canadian numbers and our data stored in Canada. We can support a US number if your loved one moved across the border but kept their Canadian phone — get in touch and we'll walk through the details.
Safety & Escalation
If your loved one presses 2 (need help) or replies HELP, we immediately reach out to their care circle to let them know help is needed. If nobody can confirm they're safe, escalation can go all the way to emergency services, depending on the settings you configure.
MyDailyCheck is not a replacement for 911 or emergency services. We never call 911 automatically on a missed check-in. For paid plans, escalation settings can include prompts to contact local emergency services when all other contacts have been exhausted — but only if you set it up that way. In any known emergency, call 911 directly.
No — MyDailyCheck is an automated system, not a human-monitored call centre. We notify the people you choose. They're the ones who decide what action to take. We're a quiet daily safety net, not a 24/7 emergency dispatch service.
They can text 'OUT' or press a snooze option to skip that day's check-in. You can also set up vacation mode to pause checks for a few days. And if they regularly miss Tuesday mornings because of church, the system can learn that pattern over time.
Yes. Vacation mode lets you pause check-ins for a date range — for travel, hospital stays, family visits, anything. Resume the day they're home.
Cell phones and landlines typically continue working during power outages. If we truly can't reach them by any method, the missed check-in triggers your contact tree — which is exactly what should happen in that scenario.
Compared to other options
A medical alert pendant only helps if it's worn and the wearer presses the button after a fall. Studies suggest most seniors don't wear them consistently — they're uncomfortable, stigmatizing, or forgotten on the dresser. MyDailyCheck works differently: we reach out proactively, on the phone they already use. There's nothing to wear, charge, or remember. The two can also work together — a pendant for fall response, MyDailyCheck for daily reassurance.
You could. Most seniors hate it. Cameras feel like surveillance, raise privacy concerns, and require ongoing setup and monitoring. MyDailyCheck achieves the same goal — knowing your loved one is okay — without ever watching, listening, or tracking. It's safety without surveillance.
Privacy & Consent
No — and that's by design. The very first call to your loved one explains what MyDailyCheck is and asks for their explicit consent. They must agree before any daily check-ins begin. This builds trust and ensures they're a willing participant, not a surveillance target.
Then there's no daily call. MyDailyCheck only runs with the person's explicit consent. If they decline, we don't begin. If they ever change their mind, they can opt out at any time by replying STOP. We'd rather not start than start without their agreement.
We collect the minimum needed: name, phone number, address (for emergency dispatch if you've set that up), and check-in responses (answered/missed). We don't record calls, read texts, track location, or monitor phone usage. We know THAT they answered — not WHAT they said or did.
Yes. Anytime. They can reply STOP to any text message, or tell their family member to pause or cancel the service. They're always in control.
Setup & Account
About 3 minutes. You enter your loved one's name and phone number, choose a check-in time and method, add your Care Circle, and you're done. Their first check-in starts the next day.
Yes. Add as many loved ones as you need. Each one has their own schedule, Care Circle, and care settings.
Yes. You can invite other family members to share access. Everyone sees the same status and gets the same alerts (or they can customize their notification preferences).
You can change it anytime from your dashboard. Changes take effect the next day.
Yes — and a lot of seniors do. Same product, same price. The setup questions become 'your phone,' 'your routine,' 'who should we contact if you don't answer?' It's a quiet way to take care of yourself without asking your family to take it on.
You're not overreacting. Most days will be quiet — that's the point. A daily check-in is a low-cost piece of preparation for an unlikely day. Think of it less as 'are they okay today?' and more as 'we have a plan if something ever happens.'
Pricing & Billing
$20 a month per person, after a 7-day free trial. No credit card required to start the trial. All call and SMS costs are included — no hidden per-minute fees.
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no guilt trips. Cancel during the trial and you're never charged.
